The Arts and the Hours (Rameau)

Jean-Philippe Rameau (1683 – 1764) was one of the most important French composers of the 18th century. The Arts and the Hours is taken from a scene in his last opera Les Boréades in which Polymnia, the muse of poetry and music, enters to aid Abaris in his quest to marry Alphise, the Queen of Bactria.
